GAS TRANSPORTATION GUIDELINES
NEW SOUTH WALES
In an enclosed vehicle, you may transport up to two LPG cylinders with a combined capacity of no more than 9kg, such as one 9kg gas cylinder or two 4.5kg gas cylinders, secured upright with their valves closed and POL plugs fitted.

QUEENSLAND
You can carry a maximum of two LPG cylinders in an enclosed vehicle, each no larger than 9kg, and they must be secured upright with the valves closed and POL safety plugs fitted.
If transporting a cylinder inside a vehicle, it must remain upright and secure.

VICTORIA
In Victoria, you can generally carry up to two standard 9kg gas cylinders in an enclosed vehicle.
Keep each bottle upright and securely restrained, with the valve tightly closed and the protective cap or plug fitted. Protect cylinders from heat, damage and ignition sources, and carry them in an open tray or externally ventilated compartment wherever possible.
Straps such as these might be a more effective way to secure a cylinder than a seatbelt...
