MDC OWNERS’ MODS!

I have a theory: you can tell a‘ true’ caravanner from a weekend warrior by the modifications they’ ve made. I’ m not talking about retro-fitted offroad suspension or a second or third lithium battery. All that stuff is great, but I reckon you can spot someone who truly loves the lifestyle, and who lives it as often as they can, by the small tweaks and additions that they’ ve done to their caravans themselves.

These are people who’ ve spent real time in their vans in different locations, getting a feel for what works in the real world and how things could be improved to suit their needs.

I was invited to the MDC muster, held at Goochie Creek Escape, an amazing property 45km north of Gympie. MDC and Gold Class vans were dotted about the landscape, fire-pits lighting up the night and laughter echoing into the early hours.

While I was there, I simply had to chat to some van owners about the tweaks and mods they’ ve made to their rigs in hopes they might inspire your inner DIY-er.
