The ' Banksy Drawer ' became an ongoing feature of some MDC vans.
THE BANKSY DRAWER
Mark Banks – or Banksy, as he’ s known – has owned an MDC XT14E pop-top since 2021. It was one of the first MDCs to be fitted with lithium. His van, in fact, was the predecessor to the Mk2 and as such it came standard with an AGM battery at the time, but Banksy wanted lithium and hasn’ t looked back. But that’ s a side note. What we’ re focussing on here is the Banksy Drawer.
You see, Mark spotted space next to his slide-out kitchen that he reckoned would be perfect for a slimline drawer. So … he made one himself and installed it!
Mark Banks has made a number of mods to his van, but the drawer is his pièce de résistance.
As it happened, the MDC crew – along with other owners of this van – liked it so much that it became an ongoing feature of later variants of that van. It’ s even known among MDC staff and customers as the Banksy Drawer!
For the price of a few dollars and time spent online, Mark also found a toiletries holder for their combo bathroom as well as a toilet paper dispenser. For some extra clothes hanging space – especially for drying clothes during transport stages of a trip – he also fixed an inexpensive rail to the ceiling.
