RV TRAVEL
We saw the sign to turn into Trinity Island Holiday Park in Burrum River, and it was one of the easiest access points to a park that we have come across. There’ s plenty of room to get off the road and make your way through the gate to the office.
Mind you, I was a little concerned because I didn’ t see any vans on our way to the office. There is a small storage area with some vans and a couple by the main rubbish bins, along with a work shed, but that was it. Anyway, we got to the office and that’ s where the whole picture changed.
I found out that the park was huge, 100 acres to be precise. But only a few acres were used. After we booked in, we followed the directions and made our way to the turn-off for Pelican Island. The caravan area is a combination of three islands – Pelican, Turtle and Wallaby – plus some sites on the other side of Pelican Island.
COME AND RELAX
When you get onto the island that you are booked for, you drive around looking for your site. We were on Pelican Island and site 53, which has a length of 10m. That’ s only one measurement and all you need to know because there are no sites behind you or in the middle of the island. Literally, your site has one measurement, so you can park side-on to the lake all around the island. And they aren’ t small islands!
