Englaon TVs are perfectly designed for caravan use.
Well, it turns out that the bulk of televisions sold with new caravans or marketed for 12V use are just not up to the task. Memory is usually the culprit. Most of these TVs come with just 4GB of RAM, and this is hopelessly inadequate. Making matters worse, most of these TVs use a customised version of Android, much like the operating system on most mobile phones. It has a habit of leaving applications running in the background, even after you’ ve closed them. This is fine for a mobile phone with plenty of RAM, but for a TV with just 4GB? Well, frankly, it’ s disastrous.
If you’ re in the market for a new TV for your caravan, look for one that has at least 8GB of RAM. Engloan’ s range of TVs normally has this amount of RAM as standard.
If you have a TV and it is not performing as expected, you can go into the settings menu and‘ force stop’ any apps that are still open in the background. If that doesn’ t work, look at purchasing an Amazon Fire Stick. This clever device turns your TV into a dumb monitor and provides decent streaming performance with its own internal memory and microprocessor.
Another thing you can try is to‘ cast’ to your TV from your mobile phone. Most TVs designed for caravans use Google TV as the front end, and this will allow the TV to accept a cast from another device.
