IF YOU ’ VE NEVER VISITED KAKADU NATIONAL PARK , YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON SOMETHING TRULY SPECIAL .

Australia ’ s largest national park , covering almost 20,000 square kilometres , and home to the Bininj / Mungguy people for over 65,000 years , it is easy to understand why Kakadu is dual World Heritagelisted for its outstanding natural and cultural treasures .
As one of the most biodiverse environments on Earth , Kakadu is brimming with flora and fauna , from 10,000 saltwater crocodiles to the 280 varieties of birds ( a third of all the bird species in Australia ). To say this place is special is an understatement !
With such a vast area to explore , having two weeks here would be incredible … or one week would be perfect . We had three days and a jam packed-itinerary ! Here are our highlights :
CAHILLS CROSSING
The infamous Cahills Crossing is a must-visit at high tide to witness the unusual behaviour of the saltwater crocodiles who call the East Alligator River home , or to watch on as brave drivers navigate their vehicles across the causeway that borders Kakadu and Arnhem Land . We counted 22 large crocodiles during our visit !
UBIRR ROCK
Ubirr Rock is one of Kakadu ’ s most famous Aboriginal rock art sites , with incredible artworks dating over 20,000 years old . The galleries are easily accessible via a 1km circular walking track , and a moderately steep 250m climb to
