One of the lesser known attractions is Maguk , a pristine natural waterfall and plunge pool nestled amongst monsoon forest at the base of steep gorge walls .
You will need a 4WD to navigate the 14km corrugated track off the main road and in to the dayuse area ; however , your effort will be rewarded with some of the most spectacular scenery you will experience .
We stayed at Cooinda Lodge , close to the famous Yellow Water billabong and this made the perfect base to get out and explore Kakadu !
