RV TRAVEL
ESSENTIAL ATTRACTIONS
It was an action-packed itinerary exploring Stanthorpe and we made sure we filled our days with plenty of adventures , site-seeing , as well as tasting the local produce . Our list of must-dos in and around Stanthorpe is huge – they are all attractions you don ’ t want to miss :
The Big Apple , Vincenzo ’ s Café , Bar , Deli : Grab a coffee and souvenirs . It also has a selection of local suppliers if you don ’ t have time to get around to many places .
Balancing Heart Vineyard : The walk through the vineyard to the Balancing Rock offers breathtaking views out to Robert ’ s Range . We went on the weekend and enjoyed live music while sharing a couple of pizzas with the kids . The wine was fabulous .
The Ugg Lady : Nothing is more Aussie than uggs and if you need a new pair , this is your place .
The Kent Saddlery : While the kids fed the lamas , I purchased a new hatband for my hat . This is a great place to show the kids about farm and country life , and what gear you need to ride a horse .
Suttons Stanthorpe : Head here for an apple pie .
Ballandean Dinosaur : Our kids love ‘ big things ’ and , of course , had to put their heads in the dinosaur ’ s mouth .
The Big Thermometer : Right next to Stanthorpe ’ s visitor centre , we decided it was one of our favourite ever big things . Stanthorpe is Queensland ’ s coldest town so we all decided we would love to visit again during winter .
The Red Bridge : A short walk from the Big Thermometer along Quart Pot Creek , this is a historic railway bridge and another great history lesson for young and old .
Stanthorpe Cheese Shop : We all love cheese , so it was great to have the whole family trying 12 different cheeses – the hardest thing is choosing a favourite !
