RV TRAVEL
The team at Apollo RV Sales put us in touch with Kratzmann Caravans , Qld , who set us up with the Coromal Adventure Seeker 19.6 . After a thorough briefing of the caravan , my husband , Jared , and I got the van home to show the kids , Cooper , 13 , Billy , 9 , and Matilda , 7 , and we all packed it for our trip .
We hit the road early , leaving the Gold Coast before sunrise , heading north up the M1 . Our travel days include listening to rock music , exploring each pit stop , supporting small businesses and learning about the history of each town we visit .
Every time we head north we have to stop at ‘ Matilda ’, the 13m-high kangaroo . Matilda was the 1982 Brisbane Commonwealth Games mascot , whom our daughter Matilda Brooke is named after . Our pitstop at Traveston Service Centre in the Gympie region gave us an opportunity to refuel , have a stretch and , of course , take some photos with the huge mascot .
We continued our travels north and after such a hot day on the road we loved it when we pulled in for a swim at Hervey Bay . After a quick dip at Torquay Beach , we set-up the caravan in recordbreaking time – yes , we are all very competitive and couldn ’ t believe the ease of the set-up .
