You connect your devices to the router via wi-fi , just as you would your NBN connection at home . The whole process takes around 15 minutes .
Once set-up , you use the free Starlink app ( available for both iOS and Android ) to manage your system . You can set-up passwords , rename the network and any connected devices , check the connection status and raise a support request if needed .
When you need to move on , simply ‘ park ’ your dish in the storage position using the app , and then disassemble the system and repack it into its original box .

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST ?
At the time of writing , the cost of the basic residential Starlink kit was $ 599 plus delivery . There is a ‘ Mobility ’ kit that can be flatmounted to any vehicle but it costs $ 3740 for the hardware alone .
Network access charges are $ 139 per month for access at a fixed residential address or $ 174 per month to use your system while moving around from one location to another . Data download is unlimited for standard access but you can purchase priority data if needed .
There are no contracts , just a monthly fee that you can suspend or cancel at any time without notice . You can also change between residential and roaming rates whenever you like . You can even change your residential address if needed . It ’ s a very flexible and , in my opinion , fair arrangement .

Until recently , you purchased your Starlink system directly from Starlink in the US but , in recent times , a small number of Australian companies have started to sell the kits .
