Jayco has revealed the winners of its inaugural ‘ Greatest Escapes ’ awards . This nationwide initiative was created to promote and celebrate Australia ’ s hidden gems , showcasing the natural beauty and diverse landscapes within our country .

The company selected five finalists across eight categories in its search for the best camping destinations . From off-grid gems to family and pet-friendly accommodation , Jayco put it out to the public to vote for their favourite destinations across each category .

The winning destinations in each category are :

• Pet Friendly : Esperance , Esperance Shire , WA ;

• Couples : Voyages Ayers Rock Resort , NT ;

• Family Destinations : Big4 Gold Coast Holiday Park – Helensvale , Qld ;

• Budget-Friendly : Bunda Cliffs Campground – Nullarbor National Park , SA ;

• Luxe Destinations : Monkey Mia Resort , WA ;

• Best on Beach Locations : Bay of Fires , Tas ;

• Best Destinations for Adventure : River ' s Edge Wilderness Camping , Tas ; and

• People ’ s Choice : Great Ocean Road , Vic

“ Greatest Escapes is more than just an awards program . It celebrates local tourism and brings well-deserved attention to many of the incredible camping and caravan parks around the country ,” Jayco founder and chairman Gerry Ryan said .

The winning destinations will be featured in a downloadable book , serving as a visual showcase of the beauty and diversity found throughout Australia .
