For Gerard Waldron , nothing beats spotting a Tvan – especially one of the early ones – when he ’ s in a remote location .
“ After 25 years , when you ’ re in remote places , your heart swells when you see a Tvan coming towards you . There are quite a few out there , and you still see the very early ones out there , still giving good service . Very emotional !”
To celebrate 25 years of manufacturing the Tvan , Track has announced two 25th Anniversary Special Edition models , which will both wear the ‘ Firetail ’ badge . The Firetail was initially the development ‘ code name ’ for the Tvan .

The Firetail will be available in two models : the Firetail , and the Firetail Spark . The Firetail is meant for the ‘ minimalist camper ’ who wants to take along some modern luxuries , including diesel heating and hot water . This model starts from $ 76,500 ( ex-Melbourne ) and can be fitted with the full range of Tvan options .
The Firetail Spark , however , is a nod to the future . It gets an increased ATM ( 1800kg ) for more payload capacity , a Redarc Rogue TVMS and Manager 30 system , 200Ah of lithium , a 2000W inverter , and an upgraded 200W solar panel on the roof . It ’ s also been equipped with a premium kitchen upgrade that even includes dual 240V outlets . The Firetail Spark will retail for $ 86,500 ( ex Melbourne ).
