TRAVELS WITH KINGDEANO ADVENTURES
Since we ’ ve been travelling in our campervan , we don ’ t remember many trips without our cavoodle , Twyla . However , having a dog unfortunately means that sometimes we cannot stay at holiday parks or free-camp locations .
When we recently planned a trip to Lakes Entrance , Vic , with family and friends , we happened to stumble across Prime Tourist Park , which was pet-friendly , yet is only for adults of 18 years or older . The ‘ nochild ’ concept of this holiday park won ’ t work for all , but we thought that would suit our group as we didn ’ t have kids but we did have dogs . With the park being located in the city centre , it was only a short stroll into town to find activities to enjoy and places to dine with our four-legged companions .
On arrival , we were greeted by Sandi , one of the holiday park owners . Sandi ’ s first question to us was , “ What ’ s your dog ’ s name ?”
With that , we knew we were in a friendly holiday park . Shortly after we had set-up , our friends arrived with their dog , Dusty , and my brother and his wife arrived with their dog , Winston .
On the first morning of this visit , our dogs frolicked in the holiday park ' s off-leash playground , where the owners had converted an old children ’ s playground into a dog play space . Our dogs loved the chance to run around , and even Twyla went down the slide several times . After the dogs had tired out , we took a short stroll into town to check out the local shops , including buying some fresh fish straight off the boat .
