TANGO FALLOUT
“ I called every single manufacturer who I could find out that Tango used ,” Ali said . “ No one had our build on their list . I finally spoke to Rover RV , who advised me that the Tango business development manager had called two weeks prior to try to book our build but they had refused as they already had two completed vans for Tango Caravans that hadn ’ t been paid for . I asked if they even had our chassis and the answer was no . I was in absolute shock .
“ So here we are , left absolutely heartbroken , angry , frustrated , feeling like all our hard work and plans have been stolen from us . I spoke with the liquidators and they have said we will receive nothing , as there is nothing , and that was just another kick in the guts .
The family purchased this van with the proceeds from their house sale . Enjoying the lifestyle so much , they wanted to invest further in it , turning to Tango to build them the van of their dreams .
“ We have no idea what to do as our plan was to travel in Western Australia and a few other places that we wanted to explore , and then look to settle and build on our land in Moonta while living in our van .
“ Now , if we want to get a new van we will have to get a loan and go into debt , which will take us out of a position to build a house . It ’ s just devastating and it has been really mentally and emotionally draining on my husband and I .
“ My kids are going pretty well but all their possessions are in our shipping container in South Australia , so they can ’ t even ride their bikes . We feel like we are completely on our own in terms of assistance through-out the process and just find it all so unfair as we did absolutely nothing wrong .”
