TANGO FALLOUT
“ The reality was , they took $ 83,390 in bank transfers from me , the last $ 30,000 of which was when the writing would have been on the wall about the financial reality of their situation , but they took it anyway . That money , some of which was saved while I was going through a divorce , paying a mortgage and paying my exhusband out of our home , is the product of well over a decade ’ s worth of blood , sweat and tears . I was so proud to be able to pay for our dream on wheels in cash and avoid further loans . And now it is all gone , with the reality from the liquidator and lawyers that we will not see a cent . This came after a costly and lengthy battle for my husband to see his child , which also stripped us of another $ 25,000 or so and went heartbreakingly pear-shaped ultimately .
“ This trip was our reward , our redemption , our perfectly-timed little piece of paradise after all we had worked through both individually and together . Our kids are just old enough to appreciate and enjoy the experience , while still being young enough to want to spend time with us . And now it is all up in smoke , as we will have the leave when the time comes but no caravan and no money to purchase one . Our girls are devastated , the hardest part being to explain what is going on and why none of this can happen now .”
The Pitmans loved their previous caravan , a Jayco that gave them lots of happy memories .
