Our little pre-lit $ 10 Kmart tree is the perfect addition to the van and the kids definitely didn ’ t get bored or loose interest putting that up this month .

Sorry Aunt Karen , we won ’ t be spending all day in the car going from extended family to extended family . A Christmas on the road is solely focused on your nearest and dearest and – we think – it will make a welcome change .
Don ’ t get me wrong , we love our family , and a year apart will make little difference – we ’ ll see everyone next Christmas .
A smaller tree , a smaller space and seeing fewer people also means receiving less . To some , that might sound like a challenge , not a benefit . But I ’ m sure we ’ ve all seen kids absolutely overwhelmed by everything they receive on the big day . There ’ s overstimulation , tonnes of sugar and arguments over who got what ( and who didn ’ t ).
