TRAVELS WITH KINGDEANO ADVENTURES
Though we ’ d planned to visit the Tocumwal Aviation Museum , we quickly discovered it was closed for the weekend due to a nearby airshow . However , our disappointment was short-lived as we heard about Christie ’ s Museum , being just a short drive up the road . Christie ’ s Museum is like stepping into a time machine , offering a fascinating collection of classic vehicles ( including caravans ), vintage farming equipment , plus much more . For a small cash-only entry fee , you could spend hours here taking in all the nostalgia .
We stayed at the local Tocumwal Tourist Park , which had a variety of options , including powered sites and cabins . Being in the heart of town , we could walk into town to grab a bite at the local pub or take in the Murray River . Speaking of pubs , the Tattersalls Hotel was a recommendation from a local , and it didn ’ t disappoint . We visited that evening and enjoyed a cold beer and delicious meal , taking in the lively atmosphere and music , all the while with Twyla under our outdoor table .
Whether you ’ re in the mood for quirky roadside attractions , history , or simply soaking up the peaceful vibe of the Murray River , Tocumwal has you covered . If you find yourself in the area , I ’ d recommend our itinerary , or you could visit at a more leisurely pace .
