NUMBERS UP FOR ISUZU

Isuzu Ute Australia ( IUA ) ended 2024 having sold more vehicles in Australia than ever before .
The company finished in eighth place overall in the official Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries figures . It ’ s the highest ranking ever for the Japanese marque .
With 48,172 vehicles sold , IUA achieved a year-on-year increase of 6.2 per cent , especially notable given IUA produces just two models : the D-MAX ute and the MU-X SUV .
It was another outstanding year overall for the domestic automotive market , with a total of 1.221 million new vehicle sales , up from 1.216 million in 2023 , a lift of 0.3 per cent .
In terms of local sales , the D-MAX finished third in the 1-Tonne Ute LCV ( light commercial vehicle ) segment , as well as in fourth place overall .
Meanwhile , there was recordbreaking demand for the MU-X , with 17,978 sold throughout 2024 – up from 14,139 for a year-onyear increase of 27.2 per cent . The 2023 result of 14,139 MU-X sales was itself an increase of 28.7 percent on the SUV ’ s 2022 numbers . Combined , MU-X sales are up an impressive 38.9 per cent since the start of 2023 .
Consistent demand for Isuzu ’ s seven-seat SUV has placed the MU-X among Australia ’ s top two best-selling ute-based SUVs for a decade , with it finishing 2024 ranked in second place overall in the SUV Large < $ 80K segment .
