Going back 20 years , Australian RVs never had sophisticated electrical systems that we see in some of vans today . Some of them look like they could power an interstellar space flight ! There was normally a basic battery charger , with a needle style voltmeter and a couple of blade fuses attached to a lead-acid battery . Occasionally , there would be the early adopter ( socially conscious conservationist ) who would have some solar panels .

Today , we have moved to what can appear to be complex power systems that are beyond the capacity of most travellers ; however , they are able to deliver a range of benefits which offer the ability to utilise our RVs in different ways . This may be to explore off-grid camping or enjoy a range of home comforts not previously possible .
