SATURDAY ACTIVITIES
A sunny Saturday started with a long table breakfast in the marquee. Afterwards, members could explore Lakes Entrance and its wonderful esplanade or travel the short distance for morning coffee at the Waterwheel Beach Tavern at Lake Tyres Beach. It was the perfect place for a coffee and chat overlooking the lake and Ninety Mile Beach.
Several activities were organised for the afternoon and were well attended: a painting class,‘ sit and stitch’, and outdoor games.
The painting class was very popular. Budding artists tried their hand at water colour and acrylic painting. ACCVic vice president Ken, a recognised artist, provided excellent instruction on painting techniques and how to mix colours. Painted bookmarks and Christmas cards were taken home.

The‘ sit and stitch’ session, run by ACCVic secretary Janice, saw a very talented group of ladies work on their own knitting, patchwork and other craft items while chatting and sharing ideas.
The games group, run by state rally registrar and ACCVic committee member Jen, played bocce, disk bowls, finska and puttgolf on the Green, a large grass area at the holiday park. The competition was fierce, with all determined to win. Dreams of glory were won and lost.
After a couple of hours of intense, but friendly, battles on the field, painting or craft, it was time to relax over drinks and nibbles telling stories of what could have been.
