RV FEATURE
Once a year, the Association of Caravan Clubs Victoria( ACCVic) hosts a state rally in country Victoria for its affiliated caravan clubs. This year, from March 14- 17, Eastern Beach Holiday Park, Lakes Entrance, was chosen as the location for the event. Members of eight affiliated clubs from around Victoria attended. As the name suggests, the holiday park is just a short walk to the beach, making it an ideal spot to relax, catch up with old friends and make new ones.
All arrived and were set-up by the Friday afternoon. Registrations began official activities in the large marquee, which the local Lions Club erected for our use on a site donated by the park management.
The weather was warm and sunny, but it was pleasant in the marquee with the ocean breeze flowing through. Everyone chatted over drinks and snacks. Alan Andrews, ACCVic president, welcomed everyone and provided an update of the weekend activities. Rob Taylor, president of Victorian National Rally Committee, then promoted the 2028 National Rally to be held in Bendigo, Vic.
Dinner that evening was a barbecue of sausages, burgers and salads, provided by ACCVic and kindly cooked and served by the Gippsland Caravan Club. After dinner, several socialised to chat and play board games in the marquee before retiring for the night.
A comprehensive program of activities kept members occupied and entertained over the weekend.
