You see, they were determined not to let Tango’ s mismanagement destroy them. They borrowed camping equipment from friends and family so they could at least spend some time together in the great outdoors, furiously saving in the meantime. Blake’ s parents gifted them some of his inheritance early. Eventually, they were in a position to consider purchasing a secondhand caravan.
That’ s when they decided to visit Supreme / Leader dealership Australian Caravan Centre and, given their circumstances, they were very well looked after. So much so that they were able to purchase a brand new Supreme Eclipse Sunray upgraded for semioffroad travel. Finally, on March 31, they had their official handover.
“ It was certainly a ' pinch me so I know this is real ' kind of morning,” Andrea said.“ Our trip home was smooth and we got our new setup weighed to check that everything was safe and legal in preparation for our upcoming travels.
“ On Saturday April 12, we rolled out of our driveway full of gratitude for being able to live the caravan life once more, with our new home on wheels in tow.”
They were finally on their way to Bluesfest, following months of uncertainty as to whether they would be in a van or staying in tents.
“ At the time, Bluesfest had announced that it would be the last time they would run the festival and having been before, we knew this was always an experience we wanted to share with our kids too. After much agonising in a really tricky situation, we ultimately decided that we would book the tickets and make the trip in whatever form it took, whether it was in tents, swags or in a hired van. We knew the mud and memories would be worth it, and we were not going to let the situation we found ourselves in dictate the experiences we got to have as a family,” Andrea said.
“ So it was decided that we would make a trip of it, encompassing time spent in Jugiong, Port Macquarie, Byron Bay and Sydney, with the ultimate Easter at Bluesfest at the heart of this trip.”
