FINAL INSPECTION

Eventually , we received the call from Andrew that the job was done . The Princess had been restored to her throne . And when we arrived to check it out , it was clear that in almost every detail , this van looked how it did when it rolled out of the factory about 56 years ago .

Some additional details , which hadn ’ t been fitted during our first ‘ inspection ’ of the van , were now evident . The kangaroo clips that hold open the sections of bench around the stove were a case in point . And the stove itself … yes , that ’ s original too .

I was surprised to find what appeared to be an original Coronet ice box on board , too . It turned out that one of Andrew ’ s customers had one and was only too happy to trade it for some new Coronet decals from Andrew . The installation job was seamless .

Andrew sourced taillights from Narva that matched the original design .
