It was a festive atmosphere at the expo!
“ It’ s been a 37-year journey and this is just the beginning,” Mazzie’ son, Trent, said as he reflected on the dealership’ s long history.
Trent Austin, who runs the family business day to day, spoke about how, pre-covid, he and his family arrived with the intention of winding up Coastal Caravans, but instead saw an opportunity.
“ The progress we have made in six years but particularly in the last six months is remarkable,” he told the crowd.“ The growth, the culture and the standard that we hold, as well as the reputation that we are building, is something that is truly special.”
The Austin family is well known in caravanning circles. Trent’ s father and Mazzie’ s husband, Dennis, has made a significant contribution to the industry in his role as a board member and treasurer of the Caravan and Camping Industry Association of Australia. He is also the recipient of that organisation’ s Richard Davis Award and Eric Hayman Award for Excellence – the latter is considered the most prestigious award the national industry has to offer.
