ALISON’ S FIRST FAREWELL TOUR
Rochester was next on the list. It has stayed in my memory for one thing: the huge art display in the middle of the road. On our way, we went via Colbinabbin to see the silos. Wow! They are so good that it was hard to leave the area.
We went for a walk around Rochester to see the artwork in the middle of the road. I was a bit disappointed to begin with because the huge display sites were empty, but we walked a bit further and started seeing the artwork ones. It’ s not your usual art display, but so worth seeing. Whatever the theme, it was all artwork and there’ s an annual competition but we were a week early for it, which is why they weren’ t all there.
Our next stop was to Gold Nugget Park in Bendigo. We were also going to see our great friends, Marg and Bruce Gow, who have had some articles in this e-mag. Well, checking into the Gold Nugget was fun. We weren’ t supposed to be there until noon, which is the start of caravan check-in time. So we pulled over in the entrance area and decided to wait 45 minutes. There was plenty of room for other cars to get past us, and there are always games on the phone to play.
Admiring the artwork in Rochester.
