Our next stop was Broken Hill Caravan Park, NSW. We stayed there for two nights so we could do some shopping and see Howard William Steer. He’ s a great artist and we love his work. The park puts on a happy hour at 6pm for guests. On our first night, we were on our own. The second night, there were about a dozen people and two dogs! It’ s a great park and easy to find with the flying bird at the entrance.
We were planning mostly onenight stops because of that worrisome rattle. The Victory Caravan Park in Wilcannia, NSW, is very pleasant. What I really loved was the original amenities block. Boy, is that antique! Plus you can sit and watch the Darling River in comfort from seating by the river.
We also celebrated a milestone with our car; we clocked up 200,000km!
Our next stop was the Glenhope Bush Camp. It was a huge camp with a long drop toilet. The house in the middle of the area was a replica of the original home owned by the current owner’ s grandparents. Sadly, we found out a couple of days later that the bush camp had since closed.
Nyngan River Tourist Park was our next stop. We had planned to do a bit of shopping but it’ s only 5.5 days trading and we are so used to seven days trading. Oh well, a couple of quiet days don’ t hurt.
