DOWN PAYMENT DOWN THE DRAIN

WORDS : MAX TAYLOR

WHEN TANGO WENT BUST , LAUREN AND KEVIN WERE CAMPED IN DARWIN . BUT WHEN THEY SAW OUR INTERVIEW WITH SYLWIA LOGAN , THEY REALISED THEIR LARGE DEPOSIT WAS GONE .

Lauren Ramsey and her partner , Kevin Johanson , were due to receive their Tango caravan on November 14 . In February of this year , they placed their order and paid a deposit of $ 12,696 .
“ We were looking at an offroad van and decided to go with Tango as they had one that met our needs , finished to a very good standard at a competitive price ,” Lauren said .

The timing worked well for them as they were planning a trip in their camper trailer through central Australia , across the Tanami Track to Broome , then east cross the Gibb before heading south to Tennant Creek and Longreach , before arriving back home in Melbourne via Dubbo . The plan was to pick up their new Tango upon their return .
But when the couple were in Darwin , unaware of the fact Tango Caravans had gone bust , they saw our interview with Sylwia Logan ( GoRV # 91 ) in which Sylwia detailed her personal Tango nightmare .
